Entangled
The Accidental Billionaires Book 2
Author: J.S. Scott
There’s nothing richer
than a second chance in the steamy second book of New York Times bestselling
author J.S. Scott’s Accidental Billionaires series.
Aiden
Sinclair was a commercial fisherman before he suddenly came into his
billionaire inheritance—not that he’s complaining. Being a Sinclair does have
its perks. But things were simpler before the money. He may have been dirt
poor, but he loved his job and fully intended to always come back from the sea
to his girlfriend, Skye Weston, so they could move toward something more
permanent. Or at least that had been the plan . . . until he returned from a
two-month fishing trip to discover that she had moved away and was marrying
somebody else. It tore his world apart.
Now
Skye’s back in town after nearly a decade. She’s a single mother and just as
beautiful as ever. However, for some odd reason, she appears to hate him, when
it should be Aiden who wants nothing to do with the woman who dumped him.
Unfortunately, more than nine years of separation has done nothing to put a
damper on their white-hot chemistry when they’re together. But even if those
feelings are real, Skye has been keeping secrets. The truth of the past is
about to come to light, and there is so much more at stake than just Aiden’s
heart.

MY REVIEW
Entangled by JS Scott
is a second-chance romance told in dual POV.
At eighteen, Skye met
and spent the summer of her life with Aiden Sinclair the man she comes to love.
When summer ended,
Aiden had to leave for an eight-week commercial fishing job but not before the
two made promises of reuniting afterward and a declaration of love from Skye.
A lot can change in
eight weeks and when Aiden returns, Skye is no longer waiting. In fact, she is
marrying someone else.
Almost ten years later,
Skye is back in town and is acting like she hates him when she is the one who
left and betrayed him.
Amidst hurt feelings,
broken hearts and secrets their chemistry is as hot as ever.
When the truth
surfaces, will Skye and Aiden be able to find their way back to each other?
In the beginning this
author captured me with young love, ideals and separation.
My heart was in my
throat for them when I found out what happened.
There were twists and
turns that I didn’t see coming.
I also loved the fact
that all the cards were laid on the table from the get-go.
I must say that
although my attention was captured in the beginning, I had a hard time with
their reuniting. I wanted to believe in their relationship, but It was a little
too seamless and quick for me.
I wanted them to work
for it. I wanted to feel Skye’s hesitancy and intimacy issues.
Instead, I had a hard
time believing that she had any.
There was a lot of bad
history with her husband and it was not fleshed out enough for me. This whole
backstory is what makes Skye who she is, and it felt glossed over.
This book started out
strong but fizzled a little as the story progressed.
The difference between
an amazing read and the good read I experienced is in this couple’s struggle or
lack thereof when getting back together.
For two people who
loved each other so strongly, the emotions good and bad felt muted, dull. The
anger and pain they both felt was too easily swept away.
I received an ARC via
NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
