MY REVIEW 

Wow, Breaking all the Rules was really bite-sized in length. As result, I didn't really get a feel for the main characters Caroline and Derrick.

The few things I did notice are that Caroline sounds very young and vain. I had a hard time connecting with her character. Although she is submissive, she comes off as a dominant. The way she acts during sex is also aggressive and dominant. I am not well versed in the D/s lifestyle but I truly don't think a true submissive would act the way she does.

Master Derrick, we don't really get to know at all in this book.

The interaction between this Master and sub strikes me as odd as their respective roles seem reversed. Derrick does not come off as the Dominant man he claims to be in either word or action while submissive Caroline takes the lead in their sexual encounter.

The story line and the writing are ok. I am still interested in finding out more about this couple and where they as well as the story line are headed. I am planning to read the second installment Pleasure & Punishments.

MY REVIEW

I enjoyed this second installment much more than the first. It is darker and had a couple of scenes that had me excited and at the edge of my seat.

I got more understanding of Caroline's character but still don't agree that she is a submissive, regardless of her upbringing. She is the most non-submissive I've ever met.

Master Ben's character still confuses me. I don't understand why he became the way he is or why Caroline was so special to him.

I would have loved more interaction between the women to support their friendship.

I am also left wondering about Master Derrick. Is he a true Dom? If so, his actions do not support it.

The relationship between Derrick and Caroline was sweet but felt a little forced due to the length constraint of the book.

I wanted to love this book. Overall, the series itself is intriguing but it's not what I was expecting. I'm not sure if this is my error or if the book is marketed incorrectly. I was expecting the trials and tribulations of love in a D/s relationship. Instead it was about the survival and escape of a sexual slave.

Recommended to those who love a quick, dark and dirty read where character development may be a little less fleshed out.

My favorite genres are paranormal and dark romance. I love reading a good book but I'm so busy in life that I only get to enjoy audio books. Its the only way I can get lost in a good book nowadays. It’d been a long time since I’d seen her, and this new woman in front of me didn’t compute with the waifish girl I’d done my best to scare off.

“I couldn’t sleep.” She blinked with eyes too hooded to be innocent. She spoke with a voice too rich and feminine to belong to the annoying Hope Jacinta Murphy.

My hands curled, fighting away sick appreciation. For years, I hadn’t bothered mingling with anyone other than family. Back when I’d attended school, the girls showed off their newly formed bodies and flaunted their sexual preference. Their obvious flirting turned me off rather than on. They all seemed so desperate to impress, so eager for a connection that would end up destroying them.

MY REVIEW

Royally Bitten by Lexi C. Foss is the second book in the Blood Alliance Series. A series that is getting better and BETTER!

Rae is a fighter and is courageous. On Blood Day, she is hoping to be chosen to participate in the Immortal Cup. So, when ancient and royal vampire Kylan takes an interest in her as his consort and kisses her, she bites him.

Kylan is jaded and bored with his lot. After one sizzling bite with a defiant human, his animal instincts are intrigued.

Claiming Raelyn as his consort will change both their lives - Irrevocably.

This was an amazing read that was addicting and page-turning.

I love Rae's defiance and fight. Her time in the snow made me smirk and giggle.

Kylan simply melts my heart with his actions and words.

I LOVED their relationship. He is jaded as well as an ancient vampire. I love that as much as he thinks he getting to Rae, she's chipping off pieces as well. He doesn't even realize it.

I am addicted to this series. This story made my heart melt and swell. I am excited and impatient for the next installment.

A romance with all the feels, In Too Deep by Rebecca Sharp will have you turning the pages and falling in love with the main characters.

Tamsin lives and strives in a well-ordered life.

Nick's life is chaos.

When Tamsin's well-ordered life is turned upside down, she turns to Nick to help her feel alive. While Nick helps Tamsin live, she becomes the peace and comfort he needs in his chaotic life.

When I was first introduced to Tamsin and Nick, I wanted their story. I am a sucker for a bad boy that has a heart of gold. Let me tell you, Nick is absolutely swoon-worthy. He may be the biggest ass but when he falls, he is absolutely devoted, sweet and loveable. The way he puts his daughter first and how he would do anything for her makes him all the more sexy.

Tamsin is such an inspiration. She is a strong, amazing and independent character with strong values and a heart of gold. I'm totally in awe of her character. Her strength and resilience during difficult times really shines through.

I could feel the sparks and friction when Tamsin and Nick are together.

Rebecca Sharp has penned an incredible story. I will definitely be looking out for more books from this author in the future.
