Synopsis
KARA
There
he was with his piercing blue eyes and Lucifer black hair.
He
was leaning against the wall, a lollipop in his mouth, hot as hell and twice as
dangerous.
Kara

CAM
She
looked so soft, harmless, like a pretty kitten, but she was as safe as a
ticking time bomb.
My
sweet, sweet Spitfire.
Cameron
St. Laurent isn't intimidated by the feisty woman at his doorstep. And when she
asks him for the impossible, Cameron knows just how to sweeten the deal...
The

MY
REVIEW
I really enjoyed the
electrifying battle of wills between Cam and Kara and the odd laugh out loud
moments in this book. Both characters are independent and very abrupt. They
don’t suffer fools gladly.
From the beginning,
their tempers and the passion they have for each other flared.
Misunderstandings abound and there is not much communication between the two
besides the heated fights. Although this may be a deterrent for some, I believe
the avoidance and the miscommunications are true to both characters. They do
not trust easily and have a hard time showing emotion.
With that being said,
however, I found the pace eventually lagged. Their miscommunications and
sparring lasted at least three-quarters of the book.
The last quarter was
left for the unravelling of secrets and the opening of their minds and hearts
to each other. Although well executed, it felt rushed. The ending itself feels
unfinished because of this.
There was so much build
up when it came to his mom as well and it seems that thread just died. Almost
like it was not part of the plot line when it seemed that she should’ve been. I
was disappointed that there was no follow through on this and the fact that
there was no epilogue.
I received an ARC of
this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
