Boom! Willow Winters has come back with a vengeance!

This book had me breathless, teary-eyed and on the edge of my seat from the very first chapter!

This third instalment in the Merciless series is her best work yet.

Breathless starts off where Heartless left off. Aria has made a choice. A choice that is the catalyst for all the events that follow.

Like a house built with a deck of cards, it all falls down around her.

Will Carter and Aria’s love survive the devastation?

This is what I want to read! A fast-paced story that had me entranced until the very last word.

I was blown away by Aria. She puts on her big girl panties and takes no prisoners. She is blossoming into the strong woman she was meant to be.

Although Carter’s character takes a back seat to Aria, I love how his character is developing. He is still as demanding, obsessive and possessive as usual but we see a more vulnerable, human side to him that only Aria can bring out.

I am without a doubt obsessed with this series. This book was EPIC and I am excited and so full of anticipation to read and experience what happens to Carter and Aria in Endless, the final book in this titillating series!

MY REVIEW ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It’s not often I read a romance with an older female and younger man... let me tell you however, after reading this book, I’m feeling downright cougarish. Grrrrowl!

Camden is sexy as sin and is definitely more man than his 18 years allow. He is charming, driven, passionate and is bent on revenge.

Enter reserved Poppy Beckett who has a philosophy of all work and no play.

She is also the instrument through which Camden will seek his revenge.

But revenge has never tasted so sweet. Camden must now make an impossible choice. Continue with his plans, destroying everything Poppy has worked for, or hold on to the one person who gives him the peace, happiness and love he so desperately desires?

This is a fast paced read that is all kinds of sexy.

I love Camden something fierce. There something about a strong, sexy man who has a vulnerability that just does it for me.

Poppy. I loved her strength. She didn’t let Camden run roughshod all over her. What she wanted, she took knowing there may be consequences.

The Four Sons Series quenched my thirst for all that is naughty. I’m actually disappointed it’s all over.

MY REVIEW

Mateo Calvetti is the eldest son and next in line to be the head of the Calvetti crime family.  His father has planned an arranged marriage for Mateo to Carina Ricci since her birth.  The reasons his father have given him for this marriage are vague and Mateo does not understand why this connection to the Ricci family is so important.  Since his father desires it however, he must follow through. 

Mateo wants his wife trained.  He demands and expects Carina to prepared to stand by him as his Queen.  She must be untouchable and cold.  He will not abide a wife who embarrasses him and his family.  He will also not accept weakness from his wife.  With this, his family has been giving money to the Ricci family in hopes that they will train Carina and ensure she is prepared to rule by his side.  Mateo has no idea what he has gotten himself into.

Carina Ricci is living a very difficult life with her parents.  She is punished for her mother’s iniquities and mistakes.  She is also being brutally trained as well emotionally abused.  As a result of this training and abuse, she has a psychotic break and forgets who she is as a person.  She remembers everything else but her self-knowledge and feelings are skewed.  Carina has no idea yet what fate has in store for her.

This book took me by surprise.  So not what I thought it would be.  It is captivating and intriguing and the world the author created pulled me in.  It is a different take on the mafia world that I enjoyed.

It is told in dual POV, flowed well and ended too quickly.

Mateo is brutal, harsh, arrogant and blood thirsty.  He believes that Carina is weak and that she knows nothing. I love how she proves him wrong over and over again

with her backbone and snark.  Not to mention their sparring and arguments.  I couldn’t believe how much she sassed back.  Put them together and they definitely will be a force to be reckoned with!

I also very much liked Dom who has been Mateo’s friend since childhood.  He is down to earth.  He helps and befriends Carina as much as he can in this new life she is living.  Dom is friendly, kind and understanding even though this is an oxymoron compared to who and what he truly is.  Surprising that.

As for Carina, there is so much more to her than meets the eye.  She’d hiding behind a lot of anger, a match just waiting to be lit.  I cannot wait to see her explode!

This book ended on a bloody cliffhanger!  I cannot wait to see how it all ends.  I’m on tenterhooks to learn more of Carina.  That is going to be interesting.  I’m SO excited and I want more!

This is a series with only the basics covered in this first book.  It is just heating up.  It has so much intrigue that there’s no question about it, I am reading the next books.  I am enthralled.  I need the next installment STAT.

My Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Adair Thorne was orphaned approximately 20 years ago after a fire that consumed his father’s bakery. He now remembers that loss keenly. He is devastated and at a loss. The Hell & Sin was the only thing he ever wanted and strived for. It gave him shelter and stability-things he did not have much of after losing his parents. Adair is also feeling rage, he knows the fire at the Hell & Sin was deliberately set, he even knows by whom-Killoran. Killoran is the owner of a rival Club and someone they owe a debt to. To repay this debt, Adair’s family was to sponsor a Season for one of Killoran’s sisters. The truce is almost voided but since Adair and his brothers have no proof they must follow-through.

Cleopatra is jaded from a life lived on the streets and has a tough outer shell. There is no love loss between her and the nobility. Knowing her brother Killoran wants an “in” to the nobility via marriage to one of his sister’s, Cleo volunteers. She does not like it but will do anything in her power to keep her sisters safe.

When Cleo and Adair first meet, sparks fly! They hate and mistrust each other from the get-go but underneath it all there is attraction on both sides. During her stay at Ryker’s house, Adair is to be Cleo’s guard and jailer. As time goes by, Cleo and Adair come to be tentative friends. He learns that she is smart and resilient while Cleo learns how kind and caring Adair really is.

What can go wrong while harnessing an explosive secret as well as living with and being attracted to the enemy?

This story, told in dual POV, reeled me in from the very beginning. It is written extremely well and the flow is perfect. This book was exciting and engaging. The battle between Adair and Cleo was entertaining.

I loved how Cleopatra, all but five feet tall, got under Adair’s skin so easily. She may have a petite stature, but her presence more than makes up for it. She is strong, fearless, brazen and opinionated. She stands up for her family and would do anything to keep them from harm.

I felt for Adair, he had so much tragedy in his life and had nothing permanent or lasting. The way he slowly wins over Cleo with small steps is beautiful.

There is no insta-love here, these characters have to work for what they want. And what they come to want and need is stability, trust, constancy and love. They find this together against all odds.

The only problem I had was it seemed both Adair and Cleo were classist. Although I understand and agree with their distrust of the Ton, I would have like to see the characters come to terms with this and move on from their hatred and distrust.

Christi definitely won me over with this book. It’s a touching and heartfelt read. I would recommend this to those who love fun and engaging verbal sparring between their main characters as well as a wonderfully written historical romance.

my review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

From the very first sentence, I became invested and intrigued.

After the first chapter, I needed to take a breath. I was at the edge of my seat, biting my nails hoping Ren makes his escape without harm.

The rest as they say is history – their history. It is messy, beautiful, awkward and full of love.

Ren and Della’s chronicles gave me goosebumps and had the fine hairs on my arms standing on end. The characters are vibrant and burrow right into your heart and soul.

This is a coming-of-age story of survival. Of Life. Of Love. There are no words to adequately describe this book. Pepper pens a compelling and touching story unlike anything I’ve ever read. It’s original, enthralling, captivating and one of a kind. The story comes to life right off the pages, it is so real. It is heart breaking, heart wrenching and so full of heart. It is not a roller-coaster of emotion, it IS emotion. You live it, breathe it, feel it. It had my rapt attention until the very last word. This is Pepper Winters at her absolute finest!

After the last word, I feel heartbroken and devastated. Not to mention emotionally wrung out. I’ve felt every gamut of emotion I possibly could from this book.

Although this ends with a cliff-hanger, I, for one, am ecstatic because there is so much more to their story. So much more I want to know. To feel. To love. If I must rate this book with a star rating it would be 5 Stars but, it is so much more than that. It is a universe filled with stars for all the hopes, dreams, love, friendship and heartache we come to experience. This book is not to be missed.
