Lies is the second book
in the captivating Web of Sin Series.
Araneae has been brought
into Sterling’s world and she is now acclimating herself. Or is she?
Sterling seems to want
to keep Araneae ignorant to the ways of his world. He is adamant that she keep
her rose-coloured glasses when it comes to him and the world she is now living.
Is this because he truly cares for her, or, is he hiding something that could
change Araneae’s mind about him and everything he stands for irrevocably?
This is a wonderful
follow-up to the first book in the series, Secrets. It has all the intrigue but
I find, like most second books in a series, the plot is in a type of stasis.
Lies is full of explanation, details and build-up for the final book in the
series. That is not to say there is no intrigue or twists and turns because
this is Aleatha after all. More that, they are subtle until the cliff-hanger
ending. THAT, has me tied in knots and wondering where this story is headed.
Sterling in this book
is absolutely perfect! His commanding ways and the way he concedes to Araneae
to make her happy, endears him to my heart. But, I’m now wondering, if I’ve
been seeing him through rose-coloured glasses too. I have a feeling there are
still secrets that he’s holding close to the chest and that as result, the next
instalment will be explosive!
Araneae is finally
getting a foothold in Sterling’s world and is definitely searing her way into
his heart. She is not afraid to make demands and no longer does she bend to
commands. This leaves the interactions between her and Sterling absolutely
electric! She is proving herself to be a queen capable of standing at his side.
I’m without a doubt
invested in this intoxicating series. I cannot wait for the next book,
Promises.

Aleatha Romig is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author who lives in Indiana, USA. She grew up in Mishawaka, graduated from Indiana University, and is currently living south of Indianapolis. Aleatha has raised three children with her high school sweetheart and husband of over thirty years. Before she became a full-time author, she worked days as a dental hygienist and spent her nights writing.
